<note>David Power, Evelyn and James Whitehead, and John Shea provide an exciting prism which sheds new light on leadership and ministry in the Christian community. The Liturgical Press is to be commended for this volume and for the series.
I especially enjoyed how the individual authors relate their work to the other contributions in the book, showing the interaction of theology, liturgy, sociology, and psychology when exploring leadership in a changing Church and the significant roles of clergy and lay persons within the Church community. The exploration of possible liturgical developments adds a rich dimension to the studies.
Anyone trying to make sense out of what is working well or working poorly, in the local parish will get help from this volume. Four we1l-established thinkers-David Power, Evelyn and James Whitehead, and John Shea-look at Church leadership as a human process with spiritual foundations and spiritual significance and propose new ways to identify, to structure, and to celebrate the experience of leadership in the Church of Jesus Christ.</note>
