In the ten years since this guide to the history worship in the Western (Latin) Church was first published in English it has established itself as a standard textbook for all serious students of the subjects. In this second edition the original text and very full bibliography remain unchanged, but a short appendix has been added to cover the main developments since the fifth German edition was published in 1965. Together with a select supplementary bibliography of works mainly in English.
