Thérèse of Lisieux, unknown during her short life (1873-1897), was a revolutionary of love. The way her message was often presented in the past led some people to believe that it was childish and out of touch with reality; yet she continues to attract because everything about her is so full of life and conviction. She will always be mentioned among the masters of the spiritual life; and we seem to touch on the central point of here vision when she tells us that God is a god of mercy. Thus we find ourselves at the very heart of the Bible; the ‘God who is Love’ is also the ‘God of Hope’; and He places His gifts in our empty hands. This message of hope will find an echo in the heart of every man and woman.
