As we strive to shape a Faith that is meaningful in the Third World, it will help to look into the heart of the Bible. We ask What is the core-massage of the Bible? Here are some possible answers: "God,'Jesus Christ," "Sin and Grace," "Love.," Promise and Fulfillment," "Redemption." No doubt each of these belongs to the core message. But in this booklet I would like to highlight other insights that also lodge at the heart of the biblical message. They are therefore key-insights, though largely forgotten in the day-to-day carrying on of pastoral work in the Church. These key insights may be encapsuled in the following keywords: history, salvation, justice.These do not constitute the entirety of the core message, but without them, the biblical message cannot be understood.
